The Seven Endless from Neil Gaiman's Sandman

Each deviation will feature my manipulation, the original photo and a couple of pictures from the comics that I used as reference.

And so here we are with the last of the Endless. Destruction was a hard one to pick, firstly and mostly because he's my least favorite of the Endless so I didn't have a clear picture in my mind of what I wanted him to look like. And also because I wanted to keep using European A-listers and all tha names that came flocking to my mind - Gerard Butler, Ewan McGregor, Gary Oldman, Sean Bean - were all wrong for some reason or the other. I had almost given up my idea of using A-listers and I was ready to work on a very nice photo of Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond in Lost) who looks the part but was not the well-known name I wanted, when suddenly - Christopher Eccleston! Of course. Not exactly an A-lister, but at least more iconic than Cusick and a very fine actor and perfect for the role.
I liked working on his face - he has such peculiar features that make him automatically look like a warrior from the Middle Ages. Redefining the shirt and vest was fun too. I'm not too sure about the sword.

Oh - and Neil Gaiman has said that he would pick Brian Blessed to play Destruction in a possible Sandman movie, but I wanted a younger looking Destruction.

This is the last of the Endless, but as I think of more actors to cast in my adaptation I will MAYBE make some more pictures. I will surely need someone for Lucien, and someone for Lucifer (I've already got him actually - Andy Gillet, perfect) and someone for Lyta Hall too (maybe Sarah Michelle Gellar? She has worked with Richard Kelly...)
