Into the Woods - Red

Into the woods to bring some bread to Granny who is sick in bed. Never can tell what lies ahead - for all that I know, she's already dead.

Here comes another Into the Woods character...Red Riding Hood has some of the BEST lines of the show, or at least the funniest (You talk to birds? XD), she really cracks me up. Just imagine a little meatball of a child delivering dry humor and going through a very creepy relationship with the Big Bad Wolf...plus, THE KNIFE. Girl will cut you if you meet her on a bad day. Same as Granny, actually (you'll see what Granny does to the wolf once I get to draw her).

My main inspiration was the actress who played her in the OBC, I just made her younger because she's supposed to be a child in the story. I also went for a Chucky/Baby Jane kind of thing - the wide-eyed Shirley Temple-doll type who will come after you with a bleeding blade in her hands. I tried to give her an expressionless face because I really wanted her to look like a possessed doll

Anyway, this drawing, as most of the first Into the Woods characters I did, is more than one year old. I swore to myself that I will finish the series ASAP and that means starting working on another one now. It's going to be Rapunzel.
