Remembering Heath Ledger

Those who know me outside of DA know how saddened I was by Heath Ledger's sudden death last January. With only a couple of good performances under his belt before 2005 (namely 10 Things I Hate About You), he broke through delivering what I truly believe is one of the best performances of all times (and I don't toss that around so lightly, believe me) as the tormented, confused Ennis del Mar in Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain and was just starting to build a very solid follow-up to such a smashing turn - with very fine, even excellent performances in films like Casanova, Candy, The Brothers Grimm and I'm Not There. His last complete performance as the Joker is generating incredible buzz. The Dark Knight opened here a couple of weeks ago and I saw it three days ago. While Ennis remains his towering achievement, his Joker is certainly memorable and it makes me even sadder that he's gone.
It seems the right time to make my own little tribute to a guy who was on his way of becoming one of my favorite actors.
This is not nearly as good as 's amazing tribute, but it's from the heart.
