Rogues Gallery vol. 1

I bet you recognize them all but just in case...from top to bottom: Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, the Scarecrow, the Joker, Two Face, the Penguin and Catwoman (with Isis)

You'll probably notice an increasing amount of Batman fan art in the next few weeks...and that's due to two reasons: a) my father is buying me a weekly "best of Batman" comic book series which is REALLY awesome so I'm reading or re-reading some very cool Batman stuff these days and b) I started rewatching the whole Batman animated series from the early '90s on DVD.

So you can understand why I'm working on so much Batart: I'm going through an intense Batcraze!! XD

Anyway, this is the first part of my own version of the Batman Rogues Gallery. Now, the style I was trying to use is DEFINITELY similar to the animated series and when I started doodling these characters I actually wanted to do regular fan art of the cartoon, but I also didn't feel like going through reference pictures (lazy) so I went by what I remembered about the characters...and that basically means that you'll find some characters almost exactly identical to their cartoon counterpart, and others that don't look like the cartoon at all.

I also wanted to experiment with some sort of cel shading to keep the mood of the animated series.

And, yes, it was done entirely on my tablet. I find myself doodling on my tablet a lot more often than I did before (pencils and paper still rule, btw )

Look out for Harley Quinn, Clayface, Croc, the Mad Hatter, the Riddler, Ra's Al Ghul and Talia in vol. 2
